Dr. Sudheer Ambekar is a renowned neurosurgeon based in Mumbai, widely recognised as one of the best brain surgeons in India. He specialises in managing complex neurological conditions using minimally invasive and endovascular techniques, offering patients safer surgeries with shorter recovery times.
After completing his MBBS from JIPMER Pondicherry with gold medals, he underwent a rigorous six-year neurosurgery residency at NIMHANS, Bangalore — India’s top neuroscience institute — where he was awarded the Best Outgoing Resident for 2011.
He then pursued advanced fellowship training in Skull Base Surgery at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Centre under Dr. Anil Nanda, and in Endovascular Neurosurgery at the University of Miami under Prof. Roberto Heros — two of the world’s foremost authorities in their fields.
Since returning to India in 2015, Dr. Ambekar has been practising in Mumbai, affiliated to Jaslok Hospital and Lilavati Hospital, where he performs surgeries for the most challenging brain conditions.
